The USMS magazine is moderately interesting. Splash (USA Swimming) has a mix of interesting and silly (age group oriented) stuff. What about Swimming World? I read some of the free online stuff but what about the paid-for magazine? Is it worth $30 a year?

  • The current issue is especially good.I really like this quote from"Training the Nervous System" by Dr Daniel Carl:"Training at race paces with perfect technique supplements the desired motor patterns-and I would advocate that if proper swim technique cannot be maintained ,then serious consideration should be given to stopping the task altogether until recovery is sufficient and proper technique can again be maintained."
