Congratulations Kristina. You are amazing. I would love to join you at practice SA or DYNA when I am in Atlanta the last week of October. I will buy you breakfast or lunch after practice. I want to hear all about your swim.
I will be happy to be able to swim 800 meters in a triathlon! I am not comfortable in open water.
Thanks SwimCat! You goin' to any masters practices this week or next? I heard we still have them even with the kids on break. I'm still resting/ recovering . . . for now. . . Although I cheated and went for a jog - big mistake when one has not been running for over a year!
:D
i will probably go tues, friday sat. monday and thurs. i will do pilates.(getting a little soft), and wed. i will be in north ga.
chris jr, gave us 10x50 ez, sprint yesteday and i just got in a 400 warmup straight from PT. :cane:timed swims are great after at least a 1500 warm up.
i am just maintaining fitness now, and trying not to overeat.
kimmie is doing the practices.
btw,how did the hubby hold up at the lake swim?
can u clone him .
Ha ha! He'll love hearing that! We'd love to have you join us for lunch or dinner any time we're at a meet together. I hope we're both back competing soon! Let me know your upcoming schedule!
Winnie, thank you so much and glad to hear you are going to be visiting in October. You just name the time and place (for practice first - either Dyna or SA), and I'll be there. I love catching up with you! I want to hear all about your outdoor adventures! You'll be fine in OW. I hated it at first until I did enough of them. Now, it's a cakewalk! At least in the lakes. Oceans are a bit more tricky, but it's coming along.
Beth,
Thank you so much! NO WAY! I am still a sprinter. I just happen to enter distance events. BAH HUMBUG! :):) See you @ a masters practice soon I hope! Still supposed to take another week off from swimming as my yearly rest. :rant3: But after that I hope to see you and swimcat at some masters workouts. I've been running as Landon said to still be active and do different things. He does not want me out of shape in August. Lots of blisters, sweating, and sore thighs are involved. Swimming is sooooo much nicer!
I tell you, the first few times I ran 5 miles around Stone Mountain, I felt that it was more difficult than moderately hard workouts with the kids. But it's been a few days and now I'm adjusting.
Swimcat, glad you are getting in some pool time even though it's limited. Pilates! Good idea! I will be adding that in as well. My gym offers it. It will be hard for me as I've not done it in a while. Gah! Same here. Trying hard not to overeat. We don't keep any snack food in the house and that helps. Only apples. Apples and running are a terrible way to live. Very boring. :rant3: Hubby held up great. He had his mp3 and PSP to keep him occupied. He said it went by fast b/c he would look for me every time I came around the 5K loop and my escort would give him updates. He was a saint I have to say. He even had my recovery drink for me right after I finished.
Rtodd, thank you!
