(S)he-Man was the top female finisher at the 25K championship. Congrats!
"The winning time was 5:39.09 by Richard Kramer, 42, of Illinois Masters. The first female to complete the race was Kristina Ulveling, 35, of Georgia Masters, who swam the 25K in 6:25.25"

Beth,
Thank you so much! NO WAY! I am still a sprinter. I just happen to enter distance events. BAH HUMBUG! :):) See you @ a masters practice soon I hope! Still supposed to take another week off from swimming as my yearly rest. :rant3: But after that I hope to see you and swimcat at some masters workouts. I've been running as Landon said to still be active and do different things. He does not want me out of shape in August. Lots of blisters, sweating, and sore thighs are involved. Swimming is sooooo much nicer!
I tell you, the first few times I ran 5 miles around Stone Mountain, I felt that it was more difficult than moderately hard workouts with the kids. But it's been a few days and now I'm adjusting.
Swimcat, glad you are getting in some pool time even though it's limited. Pilates! Good idea! I will be adding that in as well. My gym offers it. It will be hard for me as I've not done it in a while. Gah! Same here. Trying hard not to overeat. We don't keep any snack food in the house and that helps. Only apples. Apples and running are a terrible way to live. Very boring. :rant3: Hubby held up great. He had his mp3 and PSP to keep him occupied. He said it went by fast b/c he would look for me every time I came around the 5K loop and my escort would give him updates. He was a saint I have to say. He even had my recovery drink for me right after I finished.
Rtodd, thank you!
