Pure speculation department: I never liked those silicone caps. I never felt like they stayed on my head very well--too slippery. That's not a problem with the latex caps, which are sticky. I wonder if by putting on a latex cap first and then the silicone cap, the silicone cap would stay on better. Just a thought...
