I will have to watch tonight's broadcast later on the DVR. That is because I get to the Olympic Trials for a totally different event tonight... TRAMPOLINE! Yes, it is an Olympic sport. And the final qualifying competition for the U.S. Olympic team (one man, one woman) is being held tonight in Kansas City.

wow, can't believe mcgregory didn't make it...heartbreaking for her
  • That's nuts. She swam great tonight. The fact she made top 8 in the 100 I think bodes very well for her 200. I get so tired of people coming after her like this just because of her modeling career. She's actually a very nice person and you might want to try and know her before you make ridiculous statements like the one above. I agree, Sam. For Amanda to make finals in the 100 means she's right where she needs to be. She's never been a great 100 *** swimmer. I think she's got a real shot in the 200. I think Jendrick is going to make it very difficult, though.

Wasn't Nathan on the Real World? She married some guy from the Real World! Well, at least, Seattle wasn't Nasty like Austin and Las Vegas. Pretty sure he wasn't on Real World lol...I could be completely crazy at the moment, but I believe Nathan is a poster on here (plus an author and a swim fan/ swimmer as well).

Happy that Vendt made top 6 in the 200 free... what an event! Coughlin goes 58 (dang)... feel totally bad for Hayley, but Hoelzer is so fun to watch - I'm glad she made it too. PSYCHED for Piersol... what a swim - can't wait to see what he does in Beijing. The 100 *** was crazy! Not surprised Hardy won it... but what a cute hug by the Jendricks. Congrats!

Vendt is doing really great at Trials. I was pulling for Vendt but I think he had to make top 5 to push out Lochte. I think he just missed it. If I'm not mistaken Lochte makes the top six with his time. Vendt gets pushed out again....

This is incorrect. I believe they have a cap of 26 athletes for each gender. With guys like Lochte and Phelps certain to qualify for multiple events, they'll have room to take the top 6 from the 200 free. Lochte can still be an option to swim the 4 X 200 relay, but Vendt's 200 free is good enough to earn him a spot on the team.
