The women's team swims lights out at conferance and craters at NCAA's now the men are in a battle to finish 4th...
No one ever revealed the entire story behind Marsh's departure...interesting that Quick was brought in mid-season...takes the rains...and now we see the results...so...one more year or is he gone after this season?

Not sure about the girls -- BUT the men are being killed by not having two of their big time sprinters. Matt Target went a 48.5 or so at Aussie Trials and their Danish sprinter was also swimming very well at Europeans. Just those 2 guys would have added about 100 points. And anybody coaching a swimmer to go 40. is my hero !
Quick brought in mid-season? I'm pretty sure Marsh announced he was leaving Auburn before the end of last season and everyone at NC's knew that would be his last meet. In fact I believe Richard was on deck last year because he had already been named as the replacement. Yeah, I've heard rumors, too, that Marsh was more or less forced out, but I don't know. It seems strange they would bring in another controversial coach like Quick if that was the case.

What? Why in the world would Auburn force a 7/5 time national champion (mens/womens) coach out? As I understand it he's now the Head Elite Coach and CEO of the USOC's Center of Excellence with Mecklenburg Aquatic Club. I think that's a step up, isn't it? Didn't Marsh swim for Quick at Auburn years ago? Seems like a logical enough choice.
Correct.
But is it really a step up? Seems to me that MAC has some serious issues with falling standards (particularly the masters group).:joker:
In all fairness, Marsh's control probably doesn't extend that low...
If you want to talk a fall, let's talk about USC. They scored 9 points this weekend. 9 POINTS - as a USC grad, I am not even sure where to start.
How about "that's 9 more points than UCLA got!!!:banana::banana:"

Not because of the performance of his teams, but because of possible rules violations. People are always accusing Auburn of shady dealings. I'm not saying I agree, that's just what the rumors were.
This is only the second year for the new women's coach at Texas. Hopefully with a year or two of good recruiting, she can bring the program back to prominence.
