Im in lifeguard tryouts and I need to be able to swim 3/10 mile in 11 minutes which i did today in exactly 11 minutes but next week i need to be able to swim it in 10 minutes to get the job so i was wanted to know if you guys could tell me any training or swimming tips or if its even possible to progress that much in a week. First we have to know a couple of things. What type of training are you doing? What is your time for 100 yards. How hard do you kick. Is your swim in the Ocean or in a pool.
If you swim in salt water the kick is different then if you swim in a fresh water pool don't over kick in salt water.
If you are swimming in the pool learn how to turn and be streamlined off the turns.
