MANCHESTER, England, April 10. THE United States' Jessica Hardy claimed the world record in the women's 50 *** at the FINA World Short Course Championships held in Manchester.
The American demolished Jade Edmistone's global standard of 29.90 set in 2004 when she clocked an astonishing 29.58 to win gold. It is the first victory in the event for the U.S. Incidentally, Hardy also broke the American record of Tara Kirk, who set the standard with a 30.04 in Austin, Texas last month.
