Swim faster to slim down

Yup as simple as that...take what you're eating and doing now, but just shave off a few seconds from each interval and get back to me... ;)

  • Easier said than done. I guess I would have to double my swim time, right now, to see some weight loss. I usually swim one full hour in training, with coach, thrice weekly. The other days I goof off at the pool and try and do at least 1,000 meters, sometimes more. When I was running, at least 6 miles daily with long runs on weekends up to 10-14 miles, I still had trouble losing weight, I just kept my weight in the 210 area. Now it has gone up to 226. I have started, once more, a weight lifting program to augment my caloric debt. I hardly eat at all. You know there are three consummate liars: the drunk, the smoker and the fat guy. I only have a couple of drinks a day, I hardly ever smoke, just a few puffs, and I hardly ever eat...get back to you later after two months of weights plus swimming...billy fanstone The worst thing you can do is not eat! That kills your metabolism and throws you into starvation mode where your body tries to store anything it gets because it is not getting enough. Try eating 6 small meals about 3 hours apart. I would recommend starting with a protein, carbohydrate and vegetable in each meal to begin. Use the size of your palm for measurement of your amounts of food. I find Boost high protein shakes are a quick convenient thing for before or after practice. good luck
