Ande's not attacking you, George. You said kicking is a waste of time without caveat. He disagreed with that. Then you made all sort of caveats, including your inability to kick due to knees etc. Obviously, you can't emphasize the kick in your workouts. But that doesn't mean that others, particularly sprinters and strokers, shouldn't. At least you've now admitted that SDKs are worthwhile.
Ande
You are a funny guy.
I still think you are now verging on what I would call a personal attack.
I would gladly participate if you wish.
On second thought I think I will go to mass, then to confession and ask forgiveness for my bad thoughts. Or better even I put on a pot of coffee.
If kicking makes you even feel faster or make you turn your arms faster then it's worthwhile. In my limited experience if I am not kicking hard on the last 10 yards I am likely giving up on the front half too...there is something invigorating about engaging your kick to dig deep...just my personal experience.
Kick sets will certainly help whip you into shape and your legs very much so. They might be of greater benefit to folks that cannot hit the weights for injury related reasons.

My sentiments precisely.
I think Geo recently watched Commando, the Arnold :weightlifter: flick from the '80s.
I watch Arnold's movies every chance I have. My favorite of his little quips is (I let him go).
