I am looking for some guidance on entering a seed time for the 500 Free. I have never swum the event in competition and do not want to be too far off from what it should be.
I know this might not be enough information, but I just want to have a rough, conservative idea:
Best Times:
100 yd Free 1:02 (29/33)
200 yd Free 2:27 (33/37/39/38)
I don't even have a practice time, but I can tell you I tend to be a little better at shorter distances in practice than longer distances.
Any help would be appreciated.

Well, I train in short course meters and typically I finish at 1:40 and rest 20 secs.
that's not too far away. I do 10x100 on 1:45 i get a good rest on the first one but usually about 10secs on the latter 7. That's for Yards so we're right there.
I think you should go for 6:45 to 7. Unless you hae tried and can keep up a harder pace. The only comparison I have is that I did 800m LCM in 13:48 but I kept up a solid pace, to my surprise.
What meet is it? I'm in CT so wondering if it's one I can make.
