I see a lot of forum members from my general area and am wondering if any of you are going to the meet in Richmond on February 9 and 10. I feel like I almost know some of you even though all I really know about you is whether or not you feel like Dara Torres is doping and what your swimming pet peeves are.
Sadly, I will not be swimming in the meet. I broke my foot on Wednesday. I'll still be there to watch the Chris vs. Jeff 400 IM on Saturday and your 500 free. Look for the girl with the boot on her left leg...that's me :)Julie
Sorry about the foot! (My son also just broke his foot, must be something in the air.) Glad you're still making it to the meet.
I think the 400IM probably won't be as interesting as the 100 fly on Sunday. I am the absolute least of his worries -- tell Jeff that some young stud (Murphy Halasz) is supposed to be at the meet: 47 / 1:44 in the 100/200 fly in college at Indiana...about 3 years ago. Lee Jewell is also swimming the 100 fly and he is a good sprinter (20+ 50 free, 51+ 100 back) so I imagine he'll be pretty fast in the fly.
Me, I think I'll just watch the race unfold from about a bodylength back...best seat in the house...
