To all Hind Compy HATERS: Maybe somebody experienced in physics or evolutionary genetics could field this question. Exactly how significantly has the goggle evolved over the last 30 years (roughly when the compy was created from primordial slime)? I mean does the plastic of today have a different drag coefficient or has it been equipped with flagella or something? I've been wearing the same two compy (one clear, one smoke--one for when I'm happy and one for when I'm sad) for the last two years. It is my humble opinion, that the foam gaskets are much more comfortable and definitely not significantly less durable than silicone. I have replaced my smoke (sad) goggle elastic once with a 1 dollar silicone strap. The antifog of today's goggles is a joke and usually lasts only a few weeks and can be remedied with a single drop of antifog. I am certainly down with paying too much for something just because it's the best (see my bike), but I'm not sure where the technology is improved for the 10-15 dollars extra. The only advance I can tell has been more affordable correction lenses...so back off haters!
I loved my compy's back in the day. When I returned to the pool a few years ago, I couldn't figure out where all the neoprene eye rubber went. I still can't tell the difference in all the goggles these days. They all look the same to me.
I find spit works great as anti-fog
I'd like to add no spitting on the sidewalk to the PAC.
