What are your 2008 Swimming New Years Resolutions?
What have you been procrastinating?
Mine are to:
1) lose weight (go from 215 to 205 or better) and
2) do a few more SDK's on hard swims when I'm tired
What are yours?

How so? :laugh2:
I'd rather run into someone's gum as opposed to their icky loogie.
Hey Puddin'--- howsabout parking yer gum afore y'all jump inna poool? Whut kinda trailer you say you inhabit?
Well, I waz in a double wide trailer house with my momma and uncle dad. But I got thrown out fer not playin' nice with small animals and electric kitchen stuff.
So now I camp out in one of the bunch of cars out front the trailer. Nun of em ever run cept fer one that smokes worser then my gramma. Yer welcum any time.
Yer welcum any time.
Be raht there, lit'l hon'. An' I'm bringin tha dawgs. Got kewpons?
Back on track: I suppose my swimming resolution is a general one (bec. I already swim every day and will not ever be a meet swimmer): push my own comfort level in total yardage and amount of sprint yardage included, and add something for a more well-rounded fitness. Possibly yoga.
"funkyfish," if you have a taste for long-distance swimming (not all do), 8000 yds sounds like a wonderful goal. I'm trying to do 3000-3500 twice a week, gradually pushing up the yardage --slowly! -- on occasional longer swims. Maybe I'll add 8000 yds as a semi-goal for 2008 (next year 9000 yds?) and meet you in the cyberpool!

OK so by actually putting this on paper and for the world to see perhaps I might get a few of them accomplished
1st) like a few of you I figure the less of me the better...so I want to drop a few pounds....25 to be exact..of course that means that I might actually have to cook a few things now and again and not rely on the microwave as much
2nd) I want to do all 5 postal events again this year..they are rather addicting. And I am THNKING about going to the dark side of swimming and want to do an:shakeshead: OPEN water event unless enough of you talk me out of it.
3rd) I am going to do ALL the events at least once...in a meet and that even means the dreaded 200 FLY...:drown::help:
and finally my focus events this year are the ---200breast where I want to finally break 2:55 the 400 IM where I want to break the 6min mark and I think that I am going to change it up a bit because I have been trying for :frustrated: AGES to break the 22min in the 1650 without luck so I am going to look at the 1000 free this year and attempt to break the 13min mark instead.:applaud:
Anyone broken their resolution yet.
Yes, I did. I told Mollie I would swim less in 2008, but I did 23,000+ last week. Oops. I've got to be more specific with my resolution and write it down and stick to it!

Really living! And massively inspiring!:applaud:
5 days @ 3000 yd
2 days @ 4000 yd
Don't stop! (Er, I think you have through the first week of New Year to exchange your resolution for a different one....)
I'd like to do the Lake Champlain swim once in my life. Do you have an update on your Web site?
Thanks, VB

Yep, I resolved to be on time to practices (pretty mundane, I know). I'm 0 for 5 so far. But I only missed 150yd this morning -- getting better!

Yeah, not exchanging my resolution except and I want to swim smarter this year, no more 1000s after masters practice. I've been so focused on quality rather than quantity and honeslty am exhausted after most 1.5 hour practices where as I used to conserve energy during practice and not work as hard because I would want to add on after practice. 8 x 1000 after practice isn't going to help me accomplish my swimming goals for the 100 & 200 back this year.
I hope to do Lake Champlain again this year. It was an incredible swim. I did post a write up on my blog... julieoplinger.blogspot.com/.../lake-champlain-swim-8-miles-from-new.html and there are other great stories from people here on the forum.
