Women's Locker Room

Here's a thread for the ladies to discuss anything that relates to women and swimming. For example, feel free to discuss how disgustingly ugly fastskins are, how the "curse" can kill a meet, how suits don't fit, how swimming wrecks your hair, how hormones unhinge you, etc.

I have a new question for the women. I searched but didn't find any guidance on this topic. I am having a miserable time with razor burn in my bikini area. I soak in the tub for over an hour and then shave with a new razor with shaving cream. And still it hurts, is red and furious and I am getting itchy sore bumps. Can we discuss the merits of waxing vs shaving vs what else is there? I am seriously considering buying one of those technical suits with shorty legs (which I absolutely do not need) just to escape the horror of depilation. Willow Geek's experience w/ Laser hair removal is dead on right. It is the best thing to happen for swimmers since hand paddles. It's not cheap (a LZR is less expensive), but it works.

I have never shaved that particular area of my body but I do know some men who have and we give them a wide berth in the lockerroom. :lmao:

For old school people who don't mind a bit of pain, a Brazilian wax is a good way to go. And for a bit of spice, you can ask for a heart or a bullseye.

Maybe your skin gets too soft/delicate after bathing forever. I would try just doing it (shaving) in the shower and slap some conditioner down there and shave away. If its still red and hurts, I would put a fine layer of neosporin on after you get dried off. In all honesty, I usually shave with just water for legs and what not... my skin must be really tough. My :2cents:

OK you are now my offical hero! :blah: Geek what's wrong with keeping your bits and pieces tidy, or are you talking about "bare wood floors versus low pile carpetiting?" A nice practical, no pile, and easy to clean fitted carpet is considerate, if you get my drift? What's good for me is good for her I guess... :bouncing: Willow use a menthol foam/gel; guys face ones are probably better anyhow, good razor, don't shave against the grain, Aveeno cooling aloe moisturiser for after.

Soap suds or conditioner in the shower work quite well.

Gee, George, it doesn't surprise me that this is yet another thing you have never seen but have formed some sort of opinion on and feel obligated to spout off about. I am not going to peek even if you want me to.

Okay, so...you can tell us...which one did you choose? The heart or the bullseye? You're right Jim but you know what they say? "Photos or it never happened!" :laugh2: I think the natty, USMS logo complete with colours would be a nice touch for Nats ...
