Food for swimming

Well I have been reading through all of these posts and they are extremely informative on the swimming aspect, but was wondering if anyone has any recommendations/recipes for some great swimming food? Was thinking a nice chicken stir fry over rice. Not going on a diet and don't think I am dedicated enough to do the 6 small meals per day thing, just a regular 3 meals a day *** that pretty much cut out fast foods since I began 3 weeks ago. Also, is it more important to have a meal before or after a workout? I always seem to be hungry coming out of the pool after a workout regardless of eating an hour before. Thanks in advance

What I do - three small meals a day and four snacks a day. My snacks sometimes could be a small meal. Fast foods are not bad it is how big is the fast food meal. When I go to Point Roberts just accross the border, as an after breakfast snack I get about a dollars worth the Jo Jos. I don't share these with my wife. If I go to Wendy's a baked potato. Macdonalds a small hamburger. We do not have to order the meal deal or get Large of anything. Yeah, trying to retrain myself to watch the caloric intake, so the servings are definitely being reduced. As for the fast food, usually will get a salad, baked potato, or a small chicken sandwich with no mayo now where I would have gotten one of those big big meals not 2 months ago. Home for a small dinner and 2 glasses of :wine: (doctors orders). No dessert. I might have a late night snack of fruit or yogurt. Who can argue with doctors orders? :laugh2: I started back swimming in September. IT is going well but now I need to concentrate on my eating. Due to my thyroid problems to lose weight I must cut out the bread and sugar. So I am starting that Monday. Heading out to the Mandarin all you can eat buffet tomorrow night for my dds 14th birthday lol. I will incorporate lots of fresh fruits, lean meats and veg Katie Best of luck to you cath, gonna be a challenge here cutting those breads as well coming from a classic old school Italian family, probably have a gun to my head on our next family dinner with my grandma screaming "MANJA!" :D Appreciate all the advice from ya'll.
