CZ = Same issues as nationally - only one bid every year.
Why is that? Too difficult logistically to host the meet? Not profitable enough? Can't get pool time? All of these?
GMU is lucky enough to have a very helpful college team and a dedicated team of USA-PV officials that volunteer their time.
Crazy subway-ridin' new yorkers... its called a CAR!!!
Hey! I resemble that remark! :duel:
When are we going to get to go back to the Nassau County facility?
I assume you mean the Nassau County Aquatics Center in New York. I've been to lots of meets there. We had SCY Zones there in, I think, 2001, but I doubt it could handle SCY Nationals. It would only have room for two competition courses, with no warm up pool. Maybe LC, but it would be a tight fit.

For the record: the USMS Nationals cannot return to this facility because the event has never been held there.
For a complete list of nationals venues, dates, and number of participants in each meet, refer to the USMS Rule Book, Appendix F, pg. 186:

I know. I didn't mean to imply that it had. :shakeshead:
To travel 2000, 3000 miles to get somewhere is easy in this day and age.
Absolutely. Yeah, most of us will probably need to make a connection to get to Fresno. Big deal.
Stop whining about having to travel. :violin: To do any kind of a meet, even a half day meet with only a handful of swimmers, I have to drive a minimum of 3-4 hours. And if I get to 4 or 5 meets in a year, it's a good year. Every meet is a travel meet for me. I can drive to Fresno.:woot:
It is a 20 hour day to get from my home and to my destination. And I do not have what I need with me.
I can drive the 2800 miles in 3.5 days and I generally enjoy the drive.
20 hours seems a little high. If it takes you an hour to drive to the airport, allowing two hours to get through security, etc., five hours in the air and an hour to get your bags that still adds up to nine hours total. Heck even if it takes you an entire day you're saving 2.5 days compared to driving.

For me, it's not the traveling per se. I don't mind traveling that much. Although I'd rather go somewhere besides Fresno!
It's kids, time, money. Not whining about that either. Just feeling really lucky to have some good local meets. 4-5 meets is a good year for me too.
Carpool to Indy?
