Pre and Post swim skin lotion / shower gel

Hi - I'm new to swimming. Can anyone recommend a post swim skin lotion and / or shower gel brand that both helps remove chlorine and helps with dry skin? Also - I saw someone using a pre-swim lotion that is supposed to help fend off the chlorine, but I wasn't quick enough to ask him what it was. General google searches haven't yielded any results. Anyone know what this is and where to get it? Thanks very much.

  • Kiehls has an outstanding product for removing chlorine. It's a company from NY since 1831. Many of the women on my team use it and it works! You can smell your arm during the day and it smells like your lotion not eau de chlorine. There's and All-Sport Swimmer's Cleansing Rinse for Hair and Body with the tag line Neutralizes Chlorine that we mix half and half with one of their regular bath soaps (currently I'm using lavender, but they have all kinds of flavors). This makes it last longer. They also have an All-Sport Every Day Shampoo, and Hair Conditioner and Grooming Aid. These products are also excellent. They are not sold in Walgreens or Rite-Aid. I get them at Nordstroms here but the web site is www.kielhs.com. As for lotion, I use Nivea and it works well. Good luck! These are tried and true products but they aren't cheap. Nancy
