Hi - I'm new to swimming. Can anyone recommend a post swim skin lotion and / or shower gel brand that both helps remove chlorine and helps with dry skin?
Also - I saw someone using a pre-swim lotion that is supposed to help fend off the chlorine, but I wasn't quick enough to ask him what it was. General google searches haven't yielded any results. Anyone know what this is and where to get it?
Thanks very much.
The pre-swim lotion might be DermaSwimPro-they marketed it a year or so ago and I had some samples-I swim early in the am and it was just too much to try to apply it before workout. When I swim later I need sunblock so I never used too much of the product. The website was www.dermaswim.com and the phone 1-866-833-swim. Post swim-if I feel dry I use coconut oil-buy it at the health food store-relatively cheap-works well.

Has anyone used this pre-swim DermaSwim Pro lotion? Its ingredients is not listed, so I'm wondering if it really has any anti-chlorine agent, or if we could just apply any regular lotion pre-swim which should help as well? (I suppose any lotion will close your pores.)
Can't tell if you're a guy or gal (too lazy to do work that would allow me to tell), but if you're a gal, I swear by "L'il Goat's Milk Petite Chevre," which technically is for children, but comes in a little kit of bodywash, soap, and moisturizing lotion.
I love how the lotion smells; it's not sticky; you can put it all over you and then put on your clothes and you smell like the lotion for weeks.
In fact you never have to do your laundry again; just keep using the lotion and your clothes! Save money.... Just kidding. But it does make your socks smell nice.
I have used Lubriderm for decades and it keeps my skin in good shape. It is expensive but worth every penny.
As for soap, I get whatever is on sale. Lately I have used Axe and Dial Men liquid body washes. I think the key is lotion though, any good soap will get you clean IMHO.

If you find something that actually WORKS let us know. In all my years of swimming I'm yet to find a product that gets the chlorine out leaving you moist and smelling like a normal human......its all part of being a swimmer! Wear your stink proudly! :lmao:

I'm still waiting for this stink. I swim 6-7 days a week, and I don't smell at all. All I do is take a shower when I get home.

I use Triswim - body wash, lotion, shampoo & conditioner.
I'm perfectly relaxed. I just don't like it when people assume I'm a liar or just wrong.
Thanks Lump!
Oh yeah that was my assumption exactly ... :shakeshead:
I'm glad your girlfriend hasn't noticed you smelling like chlorine that certainly means you wouldn't if you licked your skin :dunno:
I am not assuming you are a liar or wrong I just don't know anyone else that swims that much that doesn't at least have a faint chlorine odor if they start sweating or lick their skin. Maybe your pool composition or body chemistry make it so you don't.
Most people on here are very nice and friendly ... don't assume they are :dedhorse:
Don't recall smelliing like chlorine, but I do recall on occasion when our lane was accused of smelling like beer at the Saturday AM practice as some of us detoxified from Friday Night. Of course that was many age brackets ago.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong. :lmao: :bolt:
I just got home from a swim and shower. Licked the skin, and whatcha know, chlorine.
Now stop picking on the nice FAFs and go off and bask and gloat over your pretty smelling skin.
