Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot:
If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

What investigation are they going to do George? Hide cameras and microphones in her home? Until technology and science progress a bit further, nobody is going to know for sure if there is more to the Dara story than meets the eye.
He is a writer???
Does he have any valid opinion?
It is called follow the leader and don't think for himself.
He is also on the rumour kick, it is not based on proper journalistic investigation.
Yet they express the very same doubts shared by some of the posters on this forum, and using much the same arguments.
FYI Hersh has written about the Olympics and international sports for the Chicago Tribune for over twenty years.
How many out there think these sports journalists actually did any serious research into our world?

Here's another article, anyone notice any similarities to ones all ready posted? www.rockymountainnews.com/.../
I know one thing all these articles prove, is that sports writers are not a very original bunch. In fact I watched an ESPN show called E:60 that did a segment on Dara over six weeks ago. They went over her training etc., but then had a little round table of sports journalists and what came out of there archetype minds, the drug question. They barely spent 10 seconds on the extraordinary lengths the Dara is going too regarding the amount and frequency of drug testing. Way beyond the average big sport pro athlete would ever voluntarily commit too.
These guys are like political hacks, send out the talking notes (stick to the party line, it has to be dope) . Remember feel goods stories are for Oprah, newspapers dwell on the negative.
Sports Writers, are a very cynical group by nature. After writing about the big money sports of NFL, MLB, NBA and NCAA Division One football, I'd be cynical too, why would they think swim culture is any different?
And speaking of swim culture, and now my cynicism will show. How many out think these sports journalists actually did any serious research into our world? Yea, that's what I thought too, my last observance, sports writers are lazy.
If I remember correctly, the NYT article said that DT did the same workout as the sprinters at the club where she was training, except she didn't do doubles.
From what I could tell, I think it was the dryland and the recovery program that were more innovative, not the "wet work."
Well, that's what I meant - the whole training program, both in and out of the pool.
No I did not read it all, his first statement is all I wanted to read A white Jewish mother 12 days older than I is the star of the U.S. Olympic swimming trials, and the American media are treating her like she’s Barry Bonds.
Sorry, I don't see the racism there. And I am Jewish, by the way.
