A little food for thought:
There are masters track and field world records in the over 40 division that would make the 2008 US Olympic team.

The womens 800 pops out. As do Brian Oldfield and Al Oerter. (Yeah, I know what you're gonna say about the weight guys, but their marks are still very impressive!)
