Dara just one the national title in the 100M Freestyle in 54.4 at the ripe old age of 40. Simply Incredible. :applaud: :woot: If that's not inspiring I don't know what is.

Seeing her on the deck at Mizzou, her musculature was not out of proportion vs. any of the other women in the faster heats. This is a very revealing sentence. I would hazard a guess that the majority of the other competitors are 40-50% younger than her, and yet no difference in appearance. There was a difference in appearance, but not in terms of the size or definition of her muscles. In that respect she looked pretty much like everyone else; no bigger, no smaller. The difference in her appearance is that she is obviously older. During the 50 Free heats, she was one of probably 60 women all lined up behind the blocks. I was looking for her through the binoculars. Even though they all had caps on, I picked her out immediately. Not because I recognized her face, but because I instantly spotted the "old" swimmer. You can see it in her face and her hands. Of all the female swimmers at that meet, the ones who stood out were NOT the ones that had large shoulders and backs. Almost all of them had that. The exceptions were the ones who looked surprisingly small and fine-boned. Kirsty Coventry was one of them, I believe. Her hands and forearms looked very "dainty" compared to everyone else on the blocks. Anna Lea
