I'm going to be in the DC area (Crystal City), are there any places to swim. I checked the "find a place to swim" here but no help. Thanx in advance...

  • Haines Point may be close and the view is pretty, but a yucky pool. But OK for a workout. Go the Potomac Valley website, www.pvmasters.org, and check the clubs and locations. I think Curl-Burke also practices at American University in NW DC during the SCY season. Not sure if they do in the summer. Check DC Masters and VMST (Virginia Masters) too. If you want to venture further into Northern Virginia, I can give you some tips. Julie Oplinger lives fairly near Crystal City, so she probably has the best inside scoop on that area. There are also a lot of rec centers in Northern Virginia that have extensive lap swim hours, if you don't want to swim with a team or want to catch a workout at a time that suits you.
