I am attending a conference at the www.doralarrowwood.com/default.asp in Rye Brook New York. Is their somewhere nearby I can get some swimming in along the coast of the Long Island Sound? Thanks California Swimmer Heading East.

Hmmm.....Playland is an amusement park right on the Sound (NY part). There is a little beach right next to it. I beleive the parking fee used to be $5.00 and I don't recall a beach fee. I don't see why you can't just bring a towel and swim there. As for swimming, there is a YWCA that used to have a Masters swim program in White Plains (about 10 minute drive). Also a YMCA in White Plains that has a 6 lane/25 yrd pool and I beleive you can pay a guest fee to use the facility. I don't think there is a Masters program there. (I used to work in White Plains so am familiar a bit with the area).
