I thought I read somewhere that in a race if you switch lanes and don't interfere with other swimmers and finish in the orginal lane, it is leagal. Is this correct for uss swimming. If it is what rule number is it in the rule book?

Often the summer leagues have their own rule books. So check that out.
I think they could certainly DQ you.

There's an adult summer league in my area they have have their own rule book. I did not enter it b/c their meets are in the way of my Saturday training.
