Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?

As somebody who dabbles in photography, I would opine that the lighting was poorly configured in that shot. I don't think her skin is really that bad just yet.
I never thought she was that attractive, but this photo is really unflattering:

Hence my "she needs sunscreen" comment. This was from 2004, so she was, what, 21 or 22? Her skin is in pretty bad shape.

If my memory doesn't fail me, you also have a constant supply of ladies for the wanton eye of the american male.
Where? This is one male who's not afraid to ask for directions (in this specific context).
It is said that Washington D.C. has a ratio of 10 to 1 attractive young women to men because it's a Nation's capital. (I seem to remember reading that somewhere; don't ask me where. I do remember it because I thought, "Sheesh! I live in a National Capital, Ottawa and there's nowhere near that ratio nor is there even a 1 to 1 ratio (attractive females to men of any degree from o to 9.5).
Now, Montréal, that's another story. It's full of beautiful women (almost a la Hollywood and when it's Summertime Ooh La La! Shedding those Winter heavies to the legal minimum is a sight to behold.)

The 10:1 ratio is a myth. Lots of women. But no way are 10 out of 10 attractive. No way. Many are dressed like boring lawyers and DC is NOT the fashion capitol of the world to say the least. I think there's only one place I'd shop in all of downtown DC. Unless some mysterious change has taken place in the last 5 years. Nope, I was in DC last week as I recall. Same old suits. A few more business casual slacks.

It is thought that not all gold-diggers go for pure money. Some go where the power is (hoping to marry up) and I believe they (wherever I read it) said that just as there are Rock 'n' Roll and basketball and Nascar and Baseball (and even Hockey) groupies, there are Power-groupies.
Hollywood's a magnet for some (aspiring to silverscreen stardom), New York's another (aspiring theater actors/actresses, dancers, musicians, etc...) and Washington is, well, Washington D.C.
