Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?

Questions to ponder from a purely male perspective:
Why do women in sports, wear attire that is clearly lust provoking, and maybe only slightly confortable. Examples: track and field (I am watching the american pole vaulter girl as I type, she is hot!), volleyball, basketball. Would luscious (?) looking girls be less luscious if they wore more clothing? As I watch a 400 meter running event I notice some wear the skimpy clothing, others are more clothed, and I have slight lustful thoughts for the less dressed girls. Is lust only in the eyes of the beholder? Are full swimming or fast skin attires for girls more sexy than bikins? (sometimes I think so). Are we arguing a purely cultural aspect of clothing? Hey, if you walk into a steam bath or finnish sauna or other parts of a spa (not the swimming pool, where clothes are required because of hygiene (?) purposes) in most countries in Europe, every one is totally naked, some wearing towels, others sitting on towels, nevertheless, no one making a deal about being clothed or not. I wore swimming briefs at one of these places because I grew up in Brazil and am a prude. Would I be different if I had grown up in Europe? I did go naked once, but felt self-conscious all the time, and there were no friends of mine present. Last question: does Amanda Beard need to be naked to provoke in us lustful thoughts? billy fanstone
