Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?

OK Geek I agree with that assesment about businesspeople and such; the everyday person etc.
However, she isn't an everyday person she's an Olympic champ.
She's got her own business going, and if she's smart, she has made enough off of this shoot to cover herself (hehe that's a good pun!) for life.
Now if she's going to stay in the celebrity fields with endorsing and promtoing her own stuff...I don't see this really being catastrophic, although agreed, some may balk at her promoting their stuff.
There is risk in everything Geek, in every busness and career decision. Nobody promised me a smooth ride at 18 and I'd have been a fool to expect it.
My example of why it's not all doom and gloom (morality issues excluded)...Jane Fonda. Nudity and acted orgasm with a machine in Barbarella. Posed with tanks and upset many people etc (please don't get political on this) You'd think that was it for her, but she managed to promote the Fonda Workout, which was a worldwide phenomenon. Lastly she has now made her way back into movies, in recent years. At least that's the best example I can think of, and yes I am sure you can pull up one who ruined a career with something. I'm just saying it's not a be all or end all decision--double standards.
You'll never please all the people all of the time, etc.
