Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?
Well, Playboy and such aren't actually my favorite reading/picture-looking mags (hey for "cheesecake guy" pics, I like the covers of Runner's World, which runs a hunky guy pic every other month, but I digress...). But Amanda Beard is an adult, contracting with a legally published magazine, and presumably getting a hefty price for her modeling services. Hard to pay the rent with swimming money....
In any event, I still wish her well in competing. Perhaps rather than look at this as her posing scantily clad, you could think of it as becoming more aerodynamic in the water! :D
