Swiminfo.com has released a post saying that Amanda Beard will be on the cover of the July issue for Playboy.
How do you think this will effect her image among the swimming communties? Will any of us purchase this issue because of her?

I agree, Leonard. I think we make too much of nudity in this country. I lived in Germany for some time in my 20s where public, or semi-public, nudity is more commonplace and isn't a big deal. I think it's healthy for your own body image to see normal people in states of undress, 'cause no real person has the "perfect body". We come in all different shapes and sizes with wrinkles, scars, flab and muscle.
(standing still, waiting for the lightening bolt to strike...)
Edit: I feel the need to point out, after reading Geek's posts, that I'm talking about adults here. My daughter is a little young to be aware of Playboy and the genre, but I agree with his point. I think children's values are formed at home, though, and would guess his daughters as well as mine would be perplexed why Amanda would choose to pose nude.
