I haven't thought this through so it is probably a hairbrained idea but...
Has anyone ever proposed a national Masters gathering that is not "championship oriented", e.g. where you aren't limited to three events if you can't make NQTs, perhaps with an associated open water event, and just more of an orientation toward gathering than high performance?

Why not have 25 yd races swimming blindfolded? We used to swim blindfolded all the time cause it helped to train us to swim straight. And, we'll find out for sure who knows exactly what their SPL is won't we? For those that miscount, it's either an ouch at the end of the pool or someone at the end of the pool with a kickboard to keep them from smashing into the wall.
Why not even do reverse IM's?
