I haven't thought this through so it is probably a hairbrained idea but...
Has anyone ever proposed a national Masters gathering that is not "championship oriented", e.g. where you aren't limited to three events if you can't make NQTs, perhaps with an associated open water event, and just more of an orientation toward gathering than high performance?

I would even take Dave Barra's open water clinic if he played Beach Boy music instead of Zappa. (Post the link, Dave! It's inspiring. Or else I will.)
Of course, this would require a beach locale.
I will take anyone's open water clinic, provided there are some beautiful women that I can follow, so I don't get lost in the open water.
