I haven't thought this through so it is probably a hairbrained idea but...
Has anyone ever proposed a national Masters gathering that is not "championship oriented", e.g. where you aren't limited to three events if you can't make NQTs, perhaps with an associated open water event, and just more of an orientation toward gathering than high performance?

Make sure to have it in conjunction with school/college holidays, so people like me and Kyra and the other college peeps can attend!!:wiggle:
Or we could just skip class....I'd be ok with that too....;)
We could talk to people like Speedo, Nike, TYR, and of course USA Swimming and USMS for sponsorship to pay for it.
While it'd be great for swimmers to get together and celebrate their love of the sport, there should be opportunities or a whole day, devoted to community education and just general getting the word out.....kinda like a health fair for swimming.
