We have a few grudge races amongst forum regulars coming up at Colonies Zones. They are:
Muppet vs. Dave Barra: 200 fly
SwimStud vs. Muppet: 50 ***
Fortress vs. SwimmieAvsFan: 50 back
Here's the poll. Place your bets; no limits on voting. All races should be hotly contested. All commentary, advice and cheering accepted. If anyone else has another grudge race, pile on.
that softens the loss of 1 bottle of patron gold to the dynamic muppet which i will graciously deliver by hand at the bay swim.(if he is bold enough to tap that puppy at the pre-race, i'm sure it will be a swim sans neoprene or anything else!)
I have heard the best way to swim the bay is drunk. Heard that from a guy who had his best crossing still drunk from the night before.
Half-heeding that advice, I had a glass of wine the night before my first crossing on my first date w/ the blue muppet and did just fine the next day.
a pre-race swig certainly isnt out of the question...
I can no longer show my face in the sprawling DC suburban region.
Muppet crushed me......maybe next time i'll pick on someone my ow age!
Thats alright Dave....You can get him sometime down the road. He is a youngster ....BUT he will get older too just like the rest of us. Congrats to Muppet though for swimming really fast despite all the extra muppet hair and all LOL! Andd congrats to Julie, Fort and Mollie for an awesome 50 back trio! I also noticed that Mollie had a very fast 200 free time at the meet!...a really good time IMO for going into Nats....Good luck at Nats to all that are going!

The nearest city is Annapolis or you could stay near Baltimore. The Chesapeake Bay is more fun than Reston if you ask me. The waves are more exciting that a flat lake.
Next I will have to convince you to go to some NJ ocean races. They are closer to you.....Think Ocean City, NJ or Wildwood NJ in July. www.lmsports.com for some open water races in NJ.
I will bring the vinegar for the jellyfish stings...hahaha
Swimmy :)
you forget i have nature's antidote and a spout that came standard .
Annapolis huh? Will have to check what I can do to get there. I don't fancy the pike again on my own this time to boot!
I am in NJ first week of July...planning on going to the LCM meet. However if there's a miler in the week...we're at Point Pleasant/Cape May...that any good?
Stud-
The Ocean City NJ race is usually the last weekend in July. No jelly fish, or I'm out! The first week of July can be quiet, but I think the Atlantic city Bridge-to-Bridge swim is right around that time. I'll check and get back. It's a 5K or a 1-mile swim in the bay.
BTW- I'll be at the shore (Ocean City) first two weeks in July, maybe commuting back to Phila here & there for work. Let me know if you want a tour of the Liberty Bell...

Haha. I just had a cupcake thing. They're good.
nice to see the talk turning to the brine!
well, it was quite a weekend indeed. i'm happy to report that my adms team squeezed out a victory over niagra for ny state bragging rights.

it was a good time at the red hot. my "dad" was quite impressed with all the creatures that are subjected to the "pulling" process for culinary entertainment. during the ride home we discussed the possibilities of starting a chain of "pulled" knockwurst restaurants.......any investors interested?
rich: don't feel bad, one of my teammates can't count to 8 either.
Well I just received the news hot of the press that Rich was the winner of the Rich vs Muppet 50 breat grudge match!! Congrats to Rich....and congrats for Muppet for agreeing to be part of it....How about the other grudge matches associated to the Colony Zones meet? How did they work out? LOL!

I had failed to glean that patron was on the line! Next year, I better place some better bets. Maybe I won't be gliding into the finish then.
Before we dive into OW season, folks, let us all remember that we still have some free/fly grudge races on between the hibernating FlyQueen and some girl. I think the last words I heard on this topic were "bring it."
