We have a few grudge races amongst forum regulars coming up at Colonies Zones. They are:
Muppet vs. Dave Barra: 200 fly
SwimStud vs. Muppet: 50 ***
Fortress vs. SwimmieAvsFan: 50 back
Here's the poll. Place your bets; no limits on voting. All races should be hotly contested. All commentary, advice and cheering accepted. If anyone else has another grudge race, pile on.

I'm hoping to make the dinner also, in order to help Rich defend the honor of breaststrokers everywhere. Be careful what you say about breaststroke in my presence, or you may not like what happens to your avatar or user name the next day.:laugh2:
That's Right...I got a breaststroker with a badge in my corner...anyone wanna take a 2 week forum vacation?
:joker:
Fort - I'll be there for dinner.
Anyone who needs a videotographer...I'm spectating/cheering all day on Saturday, so if you want a race filmed, just let me know. I probably can't do as good a job as SS's daughter - but I'll give it my best.

I could probably use one. I apparently need to work and nap more. Breaststroke sucks.

I will count and cheer for you, same for that overtrainer Julie, but that is the limit of my involvement with any swimming event that is more than 4 lengths. Remember, I've been very busy vessel shaping and not engine building. Where is your tall teammate, my secret nemesis, this meet exactly? It will be pretty boring swimming the 50 free and 50 fly without her ...
Jules: I hope you are tapering and not sniffling anymore!
Julie, I sense a big Attagirl coming up...
At practice at GMU tonight I was quizzing Coach Cheryl about warming up in my fastskin vs. a regular suit and my big dilemma was that I wasn't sure if I would get bumped into the first heat of the 1650 or not and I definitely need time to get that tiny suit over my hips! I was seeded 9th as of April 10th and they do the heat/lane assignments after everyone has checked in tomorrow night. She said that she had gotten a scratch, but wasn't sure where they were seeded but that she'd email me if I moved up before showing up at the pool tomorrow night. Sure enough, I just got home and had an email from her and I'm now seeded 8th...so if #7 shows up then I'll be in the lane right next to #6 Dave Barra. Yikes!
Oh, and I wore my fastskin for the very first time tonight to try it out for a few minutes after practice and WHOA!!!! It was AWESOME! Everyone told me they were great (thanks FORT who finally pushed me over the edge to purchase it!!!) but I just had to experience it to believe it.
Hope to meet some of you tomorrow night for the 1000/1650 :)

Yipeee! Jules & Dave side by side! Are you in the same heat with Bob then too? That will be fun! Glad you liked our twin FS suit. I haven't tried mine on yet. Better do that. Usually it's better not to wear those things in warm up and change after IF you have time. A dry FS is a fast FS.
Remember folks, no concessions at GMU (except machines). Bring food. See you all there. Good luck to all. :applaud: Dinner at 6:30 where we can commence the dissing of breaststroke.

Julie.....Fastskins, Powerskins and all the other "race suits" of this type are awesome.....but a word of advice.....once you've tested them a few times DO NOT wear them in warm up.
These suits function at their best when starting a race "dry", in fact they can actually work against you if worn during a race after being wet for more than 15 minutes.....not to mention they are expensive and the less you use them the better (most will lose thee majority of their waterproof treatment after 5-6 meets).
Good luck!
Haha! Everyone is fair game! We don't care if you are not there to defend yourself! hehehe
All right then. Let's talk about Paul Smith and his fastskin addiction.;)
