Hey everyone,
I have a problem...I don't train very vigrously or religiously when theres no meets in site...so....because there are so few masters meets around me, I am also re-joining US swimming. ((is that allowed? To swim both?))
I was wondering though...how does one get a hold of registration forms for those meets does anyone know? I will be swimming unattached...but I was messing around on the metroswimming website and couldn't find anywhere that had registration forms for meets that I could print and sign up...
I suppose this would be better asked on a US forum, but I couldn't find that either:o
if anyone could direct me in the right direction that'd be great!
It's perfectly fine to register with both USA Swimming and US Masters Swimming (USMS). Bunches of people do that.
For USA Swimming, you need to register through your local LSC (Local Swim Committee). Sounds like for you, that's Metropolitan Swimming. Their athlete registration form is on this page:
www.metroswimming.org/.../Forms.htm
specifically, this file:
www.metroswimming.org/.../2007Athlete.pdf
Fill it out, send in with your check to the address, and they'll mail you a USA Swimming registration card, probably within a week or two.
For information about meets, check out the Metro LSC calendar:
www.metroswimming.org/.../Calendar.htm
That has information about meets in the LSC. Note that since we're at the end of the SCY season, and many LSC meets don't have meet information ready yet, there may not be a lot of meets with information yet.
