I will be in Buffalo NY from March 29-31 attending a swim meet at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in downtown Buffalo.
Does anyone know of masters teams in the area or places to swim in general? I hope to be busy in the am and pm, so I'll have lots of time in the afternoon to workout. Probably no masters practices then, but maybe some good pools nearby?
Thanks in advance. :)
I was doing some research the other day about masters teams in that area also, for a trip in May. Here's what I found:
wings.buffalo.edu/.../info.html
I'll be staying in Niagra Falls, ON, Canada and found a team in St Catharine's, ON that is about 20 min away (according to Google maps). It may be easier to do that rather than cross the border to swim, then cross back.
On a related note, does anyone/has anyone swam with teams in Binghamton? I found this group that may fit my schedule:

I HATE swimming alone, so if I want to swim when I travel, I find other masters groups.
sorry george, ny drinking age is 21 now.
Thanks guys. I guess I'm old enough to go to NY. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to get up at 5:30 am though ... Plus, I saw that team encouraged zoomers for kick sets. I at least like to kick barefoot.
I'll keep looking. There must be a downtown Y or something. Probably impossible to sneak into the actual competition pool. And crowded. At least my hotel has a fitness area. Could be a cross training weekend ...
But Boci pizza is supposed to be good.

Buffalo NY my favorite town when I was young. The bars, the burlesque shows, my favorite bar there the Bull Frog. We could drink there when we were 18, In Hamilton you had to be 21.
St Catharines about 35 miles from Buffalo. I used to have a swimming school there on Secord Drive my sister still runs a swim school there.

My son was married in Buffalo , NY two summers ago. I remember swimming at some small university pool downtown. Even better, the pool was set up for long course at that time! It was a very good competition pool. I swam on my own, but downloaded a USMS workout. There is also a YMCA near West Seneca, but the water was warm and sometimes you had to work your way around the "noodlers." I think there is another pool at UB.
