i have been reading a lot of the posts herein.... and it has occurred to me... (and this will surely betray my newbie-ness) there are an awful lot of abbreviations and terms used that leave me essentially having no clue what was said.... is there a book out there someplace "swimese for dummies" or the like? i speak several languages, sadly swimese is not yet among them..... i can swim two miles comfortably, and have energy left over after to go run three miles... but decode the posts on this board?.... any reference/resource suggestions gladly accepted... thanks. be, jim

hmmm.... if WD is warm down... would CU be cool up? isn't activity specific language a wonderful thing? even after translating the abbreviations, one is left wondering.... "cool... what does THAT mean?" saw a post that said 2 x 600 on 11:00.... dug around and got it translated ( i think ) and dang near died laughing... it takes me 12:00 to go 600..... so does that mean my RI is -1:00.... be, jim Yaeh I agree that WU and WD seem to be self contradicting terms....Seems like WU and CD make more sense (that beeing WU for Warm up and CD for Cool down)...its kind of like the drive on a parkway...but park on a driveway thing I guess....just created to twist our minds in a knot maybe...LOL!! As far as the negative RI goes, I think we can all relate to that after reading Ande's Swimming Blog...LOL!! Newmastersswimmer
