To the practioners of the most noble stroke...Hip pain?
Former Member
I'm a breaststroker...for anyone who confused "noble stroke" with some other lesser stroke....;) Usually the one part of my body that hurts is my shoulders and occasionaly knees, but my hip has been killing me lately.
I have double jointed hips and they occasionally slip out of place, but I can usually pop them back in easily and it only takes about day. My hip has been hurting for about a week now and it's different pain then slipped out of place.
Any ideas what could be causing it or how to fix it?
Merci Beaucoup!

Hello Everyone,
just to set the record straight, I've seen Paul The Elder Smith do the 50 BR in a meet, so don't let him kid you. Plus, he says that he hurt his knee duck hunting or snipe hunting or getting out of the pool (whatever), but I believe the breaststroke gods paid him back for venturing into OUR private and most sacred stroke.
Let him have it.....
Personally, I have never had hip problems from swimming BR (used to swim 3000 yds give or take/day ALL BR before becoming baptized as a freestyler), so I can't comment on joint stress there. Only the knees matter to me.
