To the practioners of the most noble stroke...Hip pain?
Former Member
I'm a breaststroker...for anyone who confused "noble stroke" with some other lesser stroke....;) Usually the one part of my body that hurts is my shoulders and occasionaly knees, but my hip has been killing me lately.
I have double jointed hips and they occasionally slip out of place, but I can usually pop them back in easily and it only takes about day. My hip has been hurting for about a week now and it's different pain then slipped out of place.
Any ideas what could be causing it or how to fix it?
Merci Beaucoup!

Kyra:
I just had knee surgery. The first thing my Ortho did was to check the flexibility in my hip and knee. I am normal to slightly stiff which he said was good. He said that "double Jointed" people are at great risk for joint damage. According to him, there's no such thing as "double jointed" just some people lack a secure support structure in the joint itself; so when the muscles fatigue, they start to wear and tear. The joints are durable but eventually they wear out.
I'd get checked by a Doc/MRI. Hip damage at your age will do a lot worse than just end your career ion the "Noblest Stroke".
Take care,
