Lurkers Welcome - Slightly swimming related

Ok you lurkers....come out of the dark and post. We won't bite....
  • Well..I just completely stepped out of the darkness like a couple days ago!! Think I had lurked around for more than 4 months before my first post. It took some guts to finally "join" you guys, I was kindda afraid of being laughed at by a bunch of very fast and wise life swimmers. Never ever would we laugh at anyone who wants to contribute in any way!! Welcome to the swim party...
  • Sarah, I LOVE YOU SIGNATURE!!!! That was a great movie too! (Michael)

I was kindda afraid of being laughed at by a bunch of very fast and wise life swimmers. Isn't that terrifying?! I was really scared when I first joined. And to this day, I'm still kinda scared to post sometimes, especially with a what seems like a simple question. But don't be scared. Everyone is super helpful and really eager to share their knowledge. WELCOME!!
  • I've been a member of the USMS forums for a long time. I go through phases, usually check the boards once a week, sometimes more. Usually only post when I see something I like.

I am very guilty of reading every day, but not saying much.
  • I, too, want to welcome any lurkers, non-lurkers who rarely post and anyone who wants to join a large group of people who love the sport of swimming. I joined, I believe, in October, and have found great information and writing friends here. As far as I am concerned, we are all elite swimmers because we are trying our best; some are fast, some are not and it doesn't mean a hill of beans; we are ALL swimmers searching for good health, good swim technique, improved times, and fellowship. Welcome to all new people, I mean this. And for those who don't know me, I'm the older island lady who lives in the western caribbean and only swims open water. Donna Donna...I've asked my wife and gotten permission....will you adopt me?! :woot:

I lurk daily and have learned a ton from everyone - I am most interested in swimming technique - but have had little to offer myself. My many thanks to those who post stroke details and concepts as I am less than a year new to master swimming, never swam competitively, and am in my 40's.
  • Donna asked if she could be my swim mom a long time ago ... I believe she said grandma, but my grandma has over 30 years on her so, mom or big sister is better ... I'm there ... I'll bring power bars!!

I admit it. I'm a former lurker. Admitting you have a problem is the first step right? I enjoy reading everyone's posts. Even the "NSR" stuff. Some times it's hard to keep up. This is a very active group! I'm a Colonies zone swimmer & plan on attending zones in April. It will be fun trying to figure out who fits which alter-ego. I'll be the one reading the program and squinting at the blocks to put a face (at least cap & goggles) to the name. Dana

What can I say. I have been a lurker for 4 years and I suppose now would be a good time to post. I have learned a lot about swimming.
