I wanted to tighten it, but I ripped it in the process >_> I only got to wear it once, and that was during conference. (It got some use though. I broke the team record for 100 fly in it) Anyone think it can be sewed? It's made of the same material that American ones are made from. Kyle that sucks. The manufacutrer is probably going to be your solution here. How new is it? A week or two?

The Manufacturer is Speedo. I don't think Speedo has a warranty on their suits. >_> I could be wrong though. I got it maybe... a month ago (?) and ripped it last week when I used it. During the time I was not using it, it was on my dresser in my room.

I know I would be very pissed off if it happened to me.....and Speedo would definitely be hearing about it (whether they have a warranty or not). I hope it works out for you Kyle! Newmastersswimmer

I would contact them, but it's a japanese FastSkin (made in Japan as far as I know. Unless it's made here and shipped there.) I really don't think calling a Japanese company would work so well. ;) Maybe American Speedo would do something?

Kyle... I hope you somehow get to exchange your suit. Speedo (USA) does replace items that are defective... but since it's the Japan version... I'm not sure what the policy is. Did you buy it at a store or on eBay? The suit looks like you could get it sewn if you cannot get the suit replaced. Take it to an alterations place and explain to them the function of the suit and tell them to make the stitching as small as possible.

A few years ago I purchased a full body fastskin for long course Nat's at Rutgers. While putting it on I put my thumb right through the ankle seem and had a 6 inch gash at the ankle. Luckily I was shaved but still was still frustrated that I just forked out that money not even to wear it once. I was able to exchange it with no extra cost though :-) greg

I think that you could do a decent job of hand sewing that little tear. Make sure that you use a polyester thread, not cotton covered polyester when you do the work. Trying to do a decent job in that type of location would really be a pain using a machine. To really do the job right, you would have to undo some of the existing seams, before doing the repair and then sew them up again. You never know what kind of trouble you are going to get in taking seams apart. My :2cents:
  • Assuming it's not a knock off I would think you could get it replaced by Speedo.
