How to prevent blisters from Fins

Hello everyone, My coach has me kicking for 2 hours or more with fins. The only problem is they were rubbing my heal raw, so I added socks the next day and then came home with 4 very raw and missing skin off 4 of my toes. Today I wrapped and tapped them and wore the socks again, but it diffently affected my work out. I was a good 20 mins slower getting my 5000 yards in. What can I do to ease the discomfort till the skin heals and how can I prevent it from happening again? Thanks Kim the newbie swim team swimmer

  • If your fins are slightly big on your feet, you can try neoprene sock-booties. These work great. I use them whenever I kick with Zoomers and no longer get any blisters/skin abrasions. Scuba oriented stores sell these things. The best kind I've used are sawed off at the ankles. Good luck.
