Hello everyone,
My coach has me kicking for 2 hours or more with fins. The only problem is they were rubbing my heal raw, so I added socks the next day and then came home with 4 very raw and missing skin off 4 of my toes. Today I wrapped and tapped them and wore the socks again, but it diffently affected my work out. I was a good 20 mins slower getting my 5000 yards in. What can I do to ease the discomfort till the skin heals and how can I prevent it from happening again?
Thanks
Kim the newbie swim team swimmer
Petroleum jelly. Works great. Back in college when we were doing a lot of fin work, this saved my feet. Just keep a tub of it in your gym bag. Apply and re-apply generously. However, I don't know how effective anything will be until your current blisters heal a bit.
*FYI, petroleum jelly also works well if you have spots where you suit rubs, like under arms.
