Okay, I got my first FSII kneeskin the mail.
Aside from the sides being silver see-through, does anyone else (I guess this would apply more to females than males but I could be wrong) feel like He-Man's twin sister in this get up? I've enjoyed the FSII Recordbreaker (female swim suit) and this is my first knee skin. I didn't want the full body skin as I swim lots of IM and breaststroke.
I don't expect to look great when I get up on the block. . . should I just look at it as I'll scare away all my competition. . .
Talk about doing what it takes to swim fast. I think I'll NOT invite my husband to the meet.
:frustrated:

Kristina!
You are so petite and tiny that there is no way you could look like a he-man. The way you have been swimming in our workouts.....now that on the other hand SHOULD scare the competition! I can't wait to see what you do this weekend! You are going to do great!
Your (sometimes) workout buddy!

JPG please:laugh2:
Excellent idea!
Better yet - (I'm feeling fiesty) - I may make it my avatar!
User Name: (S)He-Man!
(It was either that or Melissa Etheridge).
Gimme a day or so - putting on that Fastskin in pure torture!!!
Best of luck in your meet. Although according to Beth, you probably don't need it. :)
How about a picture of you juming out of the water with a hand raised in the air, celebrating your first victory with the new FSII suit? Now that would make a worthy avatar!
Hey sis. Don't you mean: She-Ra?
I was informed that the kneeskin isn't the most flattering suit for me either. I was told to go for the legskins, but that's not really an option for you girls :D
I too did gymnastics! I stopped when I was afraid of breaking my neck on the tricks (and I was getting too tall). So, it was a nice transition over to swimming. It was good to find a sport where I didn't have to worry about seriously injuring myself. Did you find that your flexibility from gymnastics helped you in swimming?
Thank you for thinking of Bob and our team. It's a small team in that everyone knows everyone and most swimmers are "regulars." In speaking with Bob's sister, I learned that he did have a previous heart attack and that 90% of his arteries were blocked. Not that this makes it any better. . . but it was amazing how fast he was even under those conditions. I will most miss his witty comments between sets.
I found the flexibility thing too I think it's why I found fly so easy the undulation was somewhat natural, I think a lot of gymnasts turned swimmers seem to be flyers, Rachel Komisarz comes to mind, too. I don't have the height problem, I'm only 5'2".
My thoughts are with Bob's family, friends, and teammates ...

This is quite weird. I was a gymnast long ago too. Flexible is great for fly until you become too "loosey goosey" like Beth and me. Heather, I'm feeling really tall now that I've read you're 5'2." I think I read someone else on this forum was a gymnast too. Was it Chlorini?
Hi Fortress,
I'm not a gymnast, but I am short! 5'2" also. I did do ballet for many years as a kid -- maybe all that turning out of the feet is why I like breaststroke.
On another note, I wore a Fastskin (the original) for the first time this last weekend, and I loved it! I didn't expect it to make such a difference, but I really did go faster. It was cool. :applaud:
Talk to you later!
Chlorini
I got a sinus infection Sunday/ Monday that is HORRIBLE so I'm missingsome practices this week. Don't you love the timing of these things?
Kristina:
It's just the sickness taper. Happens to all. You will do great. :applaud: And I'm sure you'll look a lot cuter in your prom dress than the dudes will be looking in their farmer john get ups.
You are way too kind Beth! Thanks for the positive thoughts!

I'm thinking my symptoms should be okay by this weekend, but it's going to be a tough meet as my energy is zapped. But, if Natalie Coughlin can swim worlds AND face the nasty press, "How does it feel to dishonor your country?," I figure I can at least show up and do my best - good times or not.
:)
Kristina,
I'm right there with you....I haven't been able to swim much lately either. My mother had to have a cardiac cath and angioplasty Monday. Thank God she is doing well and came home yesterday afternoon. I've had a stomach virus for the last week....fun. I've also been pretty upset about Bob. His death kind of puts life in perspective doesn't it? I'm entered in the meet this weekend....not sure what i'm going to do. I might just go and swim the 50 and 100 free and maybe 100 IM and some fun relays. I'm not expecting PB's....I just want to have fun. If I get a PB that will be icing on the cake.
