Hey all I just started swimming again for exercise gone from 1/4 mile to 1 mile in about 3 weeks (2 swims a week) muscles needed to adapt first. I'm hitting around the 40-50 (need to time for accuracy) minute mark to swim the mile breastroke. What should be a goal time to aim for I'm 37, 190ish, 5'8". Obviously I'm not going to go out and try to make a goal time at next swim but I can try to increase speed in incremements. Not trying to make event times just set a goal for a nice solid workout tempo for now. Thanks in advance for any input. Rich

I am surprised that none of the breaststrokers have tried feats like Vicki Keith http://soloswims.com/keith.htm This swimmer did more than a mile of breaststroke first man to swim the English Channel A news release from 1883 - Captain Matthew Webb, The celebrated swimmer. Drowned on Tuesday last in his attempt to swim the whirlpool rapids below Niagara Falls Troy also did the breaststroke on his swim to Bathsheba.
