Breastroke Speed for a mile

Hey all I just started swimming again for exercise gone from 1/4 mile to 1 mile in about 3 weeks (2 swims a week) muscles needed to adapt first. I'm hitting around the 40-50 (need to time for accuracy) minute mark to swim the mile breastroke. What should be a goal time to aim for I'm 37, 190ish, 5'8". Obviously I'm not going to go out and try to make a goal time at next swim but I can try to increase speed in incremements. Not trying to make event times just set a goal for a nice solid workout tempo for now. Thanks in advance for any input. Rich

Thanks Jeff. Good advice. Thankfully, I've had no probs gettting used to swimming again, I've done 1 mile for 3 consecutive workouts. It's because I wasn't struggling that I though perhaps I am not pushing myself fast enough...I've been working on stroke like you say though... trying to get different tweaks on my stroke...I guess I'l keep at it... perhaps speeding for a period then slowing again. My main goal is strength, fitness and fat loss... ... and yeah, I wish I could take my IPOD in the pool :D
