Important Information for those swimming the open water event at Worlds

Hi all, I was asked by the World Open Water Event Coordinator to post this. Please let any one you are in contact with at Worlds know about this information. It is essential that anyone planning on swimming the open water event on Friday, August 11 have their credentials before the event. Apparently some people, that are only swimming that event, believe that they can show up at the venue the morning of the event and swim. They can not. They must go to the Stanford location before the event and be accrediated. Also, the event starts at 12 noon, but they will start marshalling the first few waves at 11:00 a.m. Happy Swimming to All!

Can't recall where I've seen it, but I believe that neoprene caps are not acceptable. Could be the insulation factor or the floatation factor, don't know, but I recall looking at this a year or so back and determining that they were not an acceptable option. Sorry I can't be more specific.
