Many of the forum regulars seem to be going to Stanford, alas, others of us will not be there. Some of you that are going will access the internet while there, however briefly- why not share?
I have created this thread so you can report on the sights, sounds, swims, sunburns, socials etc. It matters not whether you be 'elite', 'newbie' or whatever, your impressions would be interesting to read. You could comment on great swims, technique, facilities, judging, the announcer, outrageous behavior of other forum participants, complaints, kudos- whatever. If you do, I at least would be grateful and if the thread garners much in the way of postings it could be a valuable archive for people to check for future Worlds. I lay down the guantlet...

Just to move the ball down the field a bit:
- Paul Smith and I are going to get together for a chilled, malted beverage on Sunday after the 50 fly (where he's seeded 1st, and I'm seeded 109th in our age group. I plan on bringing a nice, long novel to read while I wait for his heat.) If anyone else would care to join us, we will try to gather and decide on a location after Paul has had his swim.
- Next item, we already owe a debt of grattitude, even before the meet starts, to Michael Moore. There are dozens of reasons, and I'm sure we don't know the half of it. However, the point I wanted to make was his dedicated efforts trolling these dicussion fora at USMS to answer questions and dispell rumors. This is well above and beyond the call of duty of putting out fresh info on the FINA web site. We all owe him a big thank you.
