Those who continually whine and come up with excuse after excuse to not train.
Those self sabotuers.

Getting Clock Blocked
Ande's Pace Clock Rant
I'm spoiled at the Texas Swim Center, it's got many well place big bright yellow foot-high-font pace clocks 10 feet off the ground, they are very visible. Not only that but the minute digits are the same as the time so when it's on 30 minutes, it's 30 after the hour. You don't need to ask the coach what time it is. Also all the clocks automatically syncronize by radio, I plugged one in in the diving well and it on it's own aligned with the others.
I can't stand pools that have no pace clock.
Almost worse than no paceclock are crappy pace clocks. They are very frustrating. Crappy pace clocks are busted, they have dingy yellowed plastic or are in poorly lit pools which make them impossible to see. I'm near sighted I can't see the hands, I can't tell which one is black and which one is red. When I'm leading a lane, people have to tell me when to go. I leave when the swimmer beside me does or just go second in the lane.
I don't like the traditional white pace clocks with the black and red hands.
Pool managers please get big bright pace clocks.
Not the 3 in 1 white ones, The clock doesn't have to be the top of the line special, (which is best) just the Standard Colorado Pace Clock will do. I prefer the big bright yellow ones that I can see from 100 feet away.
Better yet, the swim center should just make the score boards the pace clock go with a 4 foot high fonts.
other pace clock related rants:
Life guard stands that block me from seeing the pace clock
People that block me from seeing the pace clock, swimmers, coaches, by standers, get out of the way.
Bright sunlight which makes the pace clock impossible to see
Coming in on a hard swim and not getting my time.
My preference is a big bright pace clock that I can see and a friend in the lane or a coach on the deck who calls out my times when I'm doing fast swims in practice.
I hate getting clock blocked.
OK I'll step down from starting block podium.
I starting to feel better.
I'm sick of machines taking over because I find it impossible to believe that a human would have let this one go.

I hate that at Villanova that no matter what they do, they can't get the pace clocks sychonized. Plus, the numbers seems to deteriorating on the digital pace clocks we have.
Other rants:
I hate how so people can get back in shape in like no time but if I were to take three months off right now, I wouldn't be able to get back in gear in a month to 6 weeks.
the swim center clocks sychronize by radio, you plug em in and they are good to go

I agree, there is nothing worse than someone blocking the pace clock. That really elevates my blood pressure!:bitching:
I know of something just as bad. A water aerobics instructor here used to pull the plug on the pace clock so she could plug in her boom box. A swimmer told her if she did it again that she would pull the plug on the boom box.
